Letter to KCGOP Executive committee

 April 1, 2026

To the Members of the Kershaw County Republican Party Executive Committee:

I am writing to each of you individually because your recent vote to create an “investigative committee” targeting me personally raises serious concerns.

For clarity:

  • I am a member of the Lugoff 2 precinct, but
  • I am not a member of the Executive Committee for the 2025–2027 term, and
  • I hold no office under the Executive Committee’s jurisdiction.

Therefore, I am not subject to the Executive Committee’s disciplinary authority or investigative processes.

Despite this, the Executive Committee passed a motion authorizing an open‑ended inquiry into my conduct, including a catch‑all clause permitting pursuit of “any other infractions.” This action is inappropriate, unauthorized, and directed at someone outside your organizational authority.

Timeline of Relevant Events

2023–2025 Term

  • I served as a duly elected member of the Kershaw County GOP Executive Committee and as State Committeeman.
  • In late 2024, I was abruptly and  improperly removed from meetings based on false or unsubstantiated claims.
  • Throughout the term, I raised  concerns regarding transparency, adherence to bylaws, and procedural  irregularities.
  • I continued fulfilling my  responsibilities as State Committeeman while advocating for proper  governance.

Transition to the 2025–2027 Term

  • In spring 2025, I was not reelected to the Executive Committee for the new term.
  • Despite my non‑membership, county  leadership continued to reference me negatively in internal and external communications.
  • During this period, I continued my work as the elected SCGOP 5th Congressional District Chairman.

2025–2027 Term (Current Term)

  • After attending just one meeting  as an observer, I was removed from all future meetings, despite having no membership status and therefore no disciplinary relationship to the body.
  • Leadership continues to make false  or misleading statements about my conduct.
  • In early 2026, the Executive Committee introduced and passed a motion creating an “investigative  committee” targeting me personally.
  • The motion authorizes review of  conduct from both the term in which I was a member and the term in which I am not and includes a broad catch‑all clause permitting pursuit of “any  other infractions.”

Any continued effort by the Executive Committee to target, investigate, or publicly disparage me — a private citizen, precinct member, and non‑member of the Executive Committee — may reasonably be viewed as harassing conduct.

Each of you is responsible for your own participation in actions that exceed the Committee’s jurisdiction. I am requesting that you immediately cease any further involvement in actions involving my name or conduct.I will take appropriate steps to protect myself if this pattern continues.

Respectfully,

Sheri Few

Chairman, SCGOP 5th Congressional District
